It had all the intrigue, action, comedy and romance, anyone could handle packed into a neatly written storyline. The relationship play between Robert Downey, Jr. (Stark, Iron Man) and Gwyneth Paltrow (Pepper Pots) was a delight. Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow) and Jeremy Renner (Hawkeye) worked nicely as the two shadowy agents battled physically and mentally to survive. Samuel L. Jackson delivered as the commanding, Nick Fury, a military central intelligence director that uses every asset to achieve the mission. Joss Whedon, the movie director of The Avengers, wrote and produced this masterpiece which has earned over $210 million so far at the box office. The support cast with Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Chris Evans (Captain America), Mark Ruffalo (Hulk), Cobie Smulders (agent Maria Hill) and Greg Clark (agent Coulson) is excellent. Th! e special effects in The Avengers are top notch with detailed action scenes and character development. The movie does a great job of using sound to draw your attention to key elements. It felt like I had opened up a huge comic book and stepped inside the action scenes as I ate my popcorn sitting with the Avenger characters. Kids will love this movie.
